Look what's in my makeup bag....

2nd post today - very unusual for me. Don't forget to read the post before this one about the HUGE Giveaway over at Raising Steppe Sisters!

Since I'm on the topic of cosmetic bags today, and I spent 12+ hours making them yesterday, I'm going to show you all What's in My Makeup Bag!

It's a fun little linkup with Trista, from Stewart Street.  Join in, and linkup. We ladies need to know what everyone is wearing, buying, liking, and not liking.

Or in my case - lack of makeup. I don't wear face makeup. If I do, it's powder. I have really sensitive skin, and everything I've ever tried, either makes my skin breakout or get really dry. The last time I wore foundation was over ten years ago. So I stick to the eyes and eyebrows, and that's about it.

I use Mac eyeshadows, mostly, and brushes - they last forever if you take care of them.
Eyeshadows $15+ [here], Brushes $14+ [here].

I am in love with this eyeliner. I like the brown because it's not such a shock of a line on my eyelid. I like the black on other people - but against my skin tone it seems like it's too much. This one has a felt tip, it's super easy to use, and it's the only liquid eyeliner I will use. Currently I can't find it anywhere in stock - so I'm going to have to get it online.

I have long lashes. Which is okay with contacts, but with my glasses it's a nightmare. I can't use any mascara that lengthens them - this mascara by Maybelline I've been using for a decade. I love it. It doesn't come out all goopy on the brush, so I don't have to wipe it off before putting it on. Love it.

My eyebrows are another story - I spend the most time grooming these old man brows. I have to trim them, thin them out, and maintain daily. It's ridiculous! I use the tweezers above, and any clear mascara to tame them into place {FYI: Clear mascara is the same as eyebrow gel i.m.o., but half the price}. Everyone and their mother is filling in their eyebrows and "painting" them with stencils..and I'm over here like, uhmmmm NO.
Revlon Tweezers $6 [here]. Clear Mascara $6 [here].

This is the face powder I currently have. I don't think it's the best I could be using. I can't find a good powder I've ever loved
Maybelline Mineral Powder $10 [here].

Any recommendations for someone with acne, oily skin, but dry and flaky once you put powder on?

I only use a makeup bag when I travel. Of course I use my own - why would I buy a bag when I can make one myself?!

But at home, I keep all of my stuff in my drawers in the bathroom, for easy access.

Do you have all your stuff organized? Am I the only one with face makeup issues? Help a woman out...what's good to try for powder makeups?

  3. Maybelline Full & Soft is my FAVORITE drug store mascara! I always seem to go back to it -- just like everyone else is with Great Lash! You're so much more organized than I am. Jeal-ous.

  7. First of all, I LOVE your makeup bags! SUPER cute!! Second, I wish I could be as organized in the bathroom as you are. I have one tiny drawer. You can thank my jacked up hubby for that. What the heck was he thinking when he built a master bathroom with one sink and two drawers!? Freakin' rip off!
